qtparted critical error during ped_disk_new Agenda, Kansas

I have the drive on the second IDE and have the first IDE disabled (so that knoppix can't access or do anything to my WIndows 2000 hard drive) - so on I don't know what this has to do with recovering the Partition Table? If I run cfdisk /dev/hda All it shows me is a little bit of free space. If not, can I just get rid of everything on the computer and restore the factory settings?
