Zappacosta and Drinkwater So Chelsea’s Latest Recruit
Chelsea made two major purchases in the summer transfer window ahead of the deadline on Friday (1/9/2017) midnight. They are Davide Zappacosta and Danny Drinkwater.
Davide Zappacosta bought Chelsea from Torino for £ 23m. He was contracted for four seasons.
“I am very happy here and ready to work with the team, I hope to show quality to the coaches, team mates and supporters,” Zappacosta said on the club’s official website.
Manager Antonio Conte is well acquainted with Zappacosta. The player never called to the national team when Conte coached Italy.
After Zappacosta, Drinkwater followed in his footsteps. He was bought 35 million pounds from Leicester City and will be bound by a five-year contract.
“I am delighted to be part of Chelsea I can not wait to play,” Drinkwater said.
Drinkwater will return to meet N’Golo Kante. Both credentials to deliver Leicester won the Premier League 2015-2016 season.
In total, Chelsea bring in six players in the summer transfer market. Before Drinkwater and Zappacosta, Conte had the arrival of Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko, and Alvaro Morata.
